⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING: Read carefully before using Yumii.

1. Nature of the Service

Yumii is NOT a medical device, is NOT a healthcare service and does NOT provide diagnoses, prescriptions or therapies of any kind.

Yumii is a nutritional self-tracking application that provides indicative estimates of food nutritional values through artificial intelligence (“App”). The information generated by the App is exclusively informational and orientative in nature.

Yumii is not classified as a medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) and is not subject to CE marking in the medical field.

2. Limits and Accuracy of AI Estimates

By using the App, the User acknowledges and expressly accepts that the nutritional estimates provided by Yumii are generated by an artificial intelligence model and are subject to an inherent margin of error. In particular:

Estimates based on photographs have a margin of error depending on multiple factors, such as, by way of example and without limitation, image quality, dish complexity, lighting, the presence of non-visible ingredients and/or preparation methods.

The AI may not correctly recognise hidden ingredients, condiments, cooking methods or actual portions.

Nutritional values of products from databases (Open Food Facts) may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate, and any and all liability of Yumii in relation to them is excluded.

The calculation of basal metabolic rate (BMR) and total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) is based on generalised formulas (Mifflin-St Jeor) that do not take individual specificities into account.

The suggestions of the AI assistant (Yumii Coach) are generic in nature and do not constitute a personalised meal plan.

The User acknowledges and accepts that the information provided by the App consists of approximate estimates and not scientifically validated data.

For these reasons, Yumii may in no case be held liable for the correctness of the AI Estimates or for decisions that the User may take following use of the App (such as, by way of example and without limitation, the User’s use of medication without consulting their general practitioner and/or a specialist doctor, starting particular training programmes or treatments of another kind).

3. No Replacement for Medical or Nutritional Advice

⚠️ Yumii does NOT in any way replace the advice of a doctor, nutritionist, dietologist, dietitian or other qualified healthcare professional.

The User acknowledges and accepts that:

The information provided by the App must not be considered personalised medical, nutritional or dietary advice.

For any decision relating to their diet, health or physical wellbeing, the User must consult a qualified healthcare professional.

The App is not designed to manage, treat or prevent any medical condition or pathology.

The App information must not be used for self-diagnosis or self-treatment.

4. Warnings

Use of the App may not be suitable for persons with specific health conditions, particular nutritional needs or situations requiring professional monitoring.

By way of example only and without limitation, such situations include medical, psychological, metabolic, allergic or nutritional conditions requiring personalised assessment by a healthcare professional, as well as any pregnancy.

In such cases, the User must consult a doctor or other qualified professional before using the App.

5. Specific Allergen Warning

⚠️ Yumii does NOT guarantee identification of allergens. The App must not be used as a tool for managing food allergies or intolerances.

Artificial intelligence may not recognise the presence of gluten, lactose, tree nuts, peanuts, crustaceans, eggs, soy, sesame or other common allergens. People with food allergies must always verify ingredients directly with the manufacturer or restaurant operator.

6. Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency, allergic reaction, illness or any concerning symptom, the User must immediately contact emergency services (112 in Italy / 999 in Ireland / 911 in the USA) or their doctor.

Yumii is not an emergency tool and cannot provide assistance in situations of danger to health.
